All for You, All in One Place

As a part of the Brush Park neighborhood, City Modern is situated in one of the largest residential locations adjacent to downtown Detroit. The area affords access to active social surroundings both outside and inside City Modern. The community offers outdoor and indoor go-tos for residents and their guests, from parks and terraces to future restaurants and retailers. Variety is the spice of City Modern life.

Aboveground Gardens

City Modern residents have access to private and shared mid-level and rooftop terraces. The raised outdoor spaces offer a fresh perspective on city surroundings. Seating accommodates both conversation and contemplation.

Mixing in the Outdoors

City Modern encourages residents to take a break and take in the natural beauty of The Mews. For musing or mingling, the meticulously landscaped pocket parks connect the neighborhood and its neighbors. Benches are set up for sitting in the sun or under the stars. The grounds are planned to be completed by the end of 2021.

Time-Honored Properties

Brush Park’s 19th-century nickname – Little Paris – is recalled as historic structures meet up-to-date residential designs and amenities at City Modern, ideal for lifestyles of today and tomorrow.

From the Ground Up

To design City Modern’s six distinguishable housing styles, five cross-country architectural firms – Christian Hurttienne Architects, Studio Dwell Architects, Merge Architects, Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects and Hamilton Anderson Associates – took stylistic cues from Detroit’s past, present and potential. Aligning with the historic streetscape while integrating updated form and function, the new and renovated residences share an interrelated approach to architecture and amenities. The community creates an innovative environment that exemplifies the best of Detroit.
